What is throughput?
Throughput is the amount of data moved successfully from one place (e.g., your computer) to another (e.g., a website on the Internet) in a given time period.
What does SpeedTest do?
Tbaytel's SpeedTest measures the throughput of the connection from your computer to our network location. This is also known has your Internet connection.
What does the test measure?
Ping time - This measures the latency or time delay between your computer and the speed test server. The lower that this number is, the less the time delay is. Example: Playing online games or doing Voice or Video Conferencing over the Internet.
Download Speed - This measures how fast you can receive information from the Internet. Example: Downloading music or videos.
Upload Speed - This measures how fast you can send information to the Internet. Example: sending an E-mail with a large attachment or posting pictures on Facebook.
